On Thursday 1 August 2019, the official Residence of Benin in Waterloo hosted the celebration in Belgium of the 59th anniversary of Benin's independence, proclaimed on 1 August 1960.
Around the Ambassador of Benin in Brussels, H.E. Zacharie Richard AKPLOGAN, Beninese nationals living in Belgium and friends and partners of Benin across the Benelux gathered in large numbers for a celebration of Beninese culture and cuisine.
