Legalisation of documents

Legalisation of Beninese documents and authentication of foreign documents intended for use in Benin.

The consulate legalises Beninese documents presented within its jurisdiction and authenticates foreign documents intended to take effect in Benin.

Beninese document

Present a copy of the document together with the original. For powers of attorney and other documents signed by the applicant, a signature deposit is required. Fee: €15 per document.

Foreign document

Present a copy already legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin. Fee: €40 per document.
