Government
Ministers appointed by the President of the Republic carry out national policy in their respective fields.
The Government brings together the ministers appointed by the President of the Republic, who heads it. Benin has no Prime Minister: each minister is accountable to the President.
Role
- Implement, in each ministry, the policy set by the Head of State.
- Prepare the bills and decrees examined by the Council of Ministers.
- Run the public services of the State.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs oversees embassies and consulates, including the Consulate in Liège.
